MEET AMBER
After more than 20 years as a political strategist and consultant, Amber was searching for a way to decompress from the intense pace of life on the campaign trail. A seventh generation native of California's Central Coast, she found herself in the middle of a high-profile campaign in 2014 - and looking for a hobby that could offer both focus and fulfillment.
When she began searching for local firearms instructors, she was surprised to find not one nearby that were accessible or affordable. But Amber's tenacious spirit wasn't deterred.
A chance invite came along from a good friend to a local gun club and everything changed.
Amber was welcomed into the community, given space to grow, and taught skills that sparked both confidence and curiosity. She was spoken to with respect, treated as a peer, and most importantly, she felt seen.
What began as a personal interest quickly became a passion. Amber started visiting the range regularly, found a mentor, and developed her abilities with purpose. As she progressed, so did a vision: to make personal safety education and firearms training more accessible to women on the Central Coast. And with that, the early foundation of Shotgun Sally was born.
Fueled by grit, determination, and her signature pink range bag, Amber transformed her passion for hunting, sporting clays, and target shooting into a purpose-driven mission - to shift cultural perceptions of gun-ownership and empower more women to embrace responsible firearm ownership with confidence and community.
When she's not on the range, you'll likely find Amber out at the ranch, tackling her next big bucket list adventure, or spending quality time with her family.
To Amber, the Central Coast isn't just where she lives - it's her home. And home should be where you feel safest.
